The Manchester United purchase is a priority for British businessman Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The 69-year-interest old's was first reported by Bloomberg, which also said that the Glazer family was prepared to sell a small portion of the club.
Jim would undoubtedly be a possible bidder if the club were up for sale, according to Ratcliffe's representative, who talked to The Times.
We'd be open to discussing long-term ownership if something similar were feasible.
United, a 20-time English champion, is currently last in the Premier League after losing both of their preseason games under new manager Erik ten Hag.
A lot has been said about the Glazers and their alleged lack of support for the squad in light of the team's dismal start.
